VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
By: Carol Sherman
There is a FREE tennis program currently running at the Jewish Community Center for children from Youngstown Community School and Liberty School. The program runs Monday – Thursday from 1:15 – 2:30. They are looking for individual and group adult volunteers. The program is already organized and operational so our responsibility would be as “Service Volunteers” only. I am going to the courts located behind the JCC (505 Gypsy Lane) immediately following our meeting next week, June 27, to observe the operation and see what is required of the volunteers. I encourage any Youngstown Rotarians who may be interested in volunteering to visit the site with me. This may be a great opportunity to activate our Put Kids First Program for the summer if we decide to volunteer as a “group” service project. Most of us remember the great satisfaction we gained working on projects at Harding Elementary in the past and the comradery these projects built among our members. Otherwise, it may just be a nice volunteer project for interested individuals. I hope many of you will take the opportunity to join me next week.

Remember, the Club's calendar of weekly speakers/programs and other events is available on the home page of our ClubRunner website!
Here is some information for the Clatter regarding the Raffle Results
The $10,000 sales goal was exceeded
We took in $10,110 in ticket sales
The Whistle and Keg manager, "Hula Hoop" Hailey, selected the 3 winning tickets from the bucket while hula hooping the entire time
I think Ellie/Deanna and others have videos/pictures of her hooping while picking the tickets out of the bucket......you gotta get the video if you can
At the end of the event, the 25 or so attending Rotarians and guests took a group picture while President Frank Kishel blew the historic steam whistle on the Club's behalf to celebrate another job well done by the Club in this community endeavor
