Remember, the Club's calendar of weekly speakers/programs and other events is available on the home page of our ClubRunner website!
Our program was Michael R. Cox a Detective Sgt of 21.5 years from the Youngstown Police Dept. Currently assigned to Detective Bureau and mainly investigate crimes committed against a person. He is currently the President of Youngstown Police Ranking Organization, President of Struthers School Foundation for Educational Excellence and the former Vice President of Struthers Rotary Community Corps.
Detective Cox spoke in very frank terms about the current tensions between police officers and minority communities. He acknowledged that issues such as racism and concentrated multi-generational poverty are legitimate problems that police officers need to factor in when engaging people during calls. The officer's safety is an important consideration when responding to people during calls.
Our program today will be our, immediate Past President Dave Stillwagon and member Aimee Fifirek. This dynamic duo will review the new look of Youngstownrotary.com as well as some key updates to Clubrunner.
During the 19/20 Rotary year Dave began the quest to improve how the worldwide web is introduced to Youngstown Rotary. Then Aimee, a new member, lead the charge to complete the quest by improving and streamlining the website. Today, the finish product is visually appealing, easy to navigate and applications and information is professionally presented, updated and user friendly.
As we work through our 'Public Image' these type of updates are an essential part of how we grow and develop as a club. Please take the time to tune in today and participate in this great process.
Meeting information is as follows:
Meeting Time: 12:00pm (program will begin at 12:20pm)
